September 4, 2010 in Indian Culture, Travel Mania by deepak joshi

Read the rest of this entry →

August 26, 2010 in Indian Culture, News, Views and Issues by arvind pareek

Who is Sai Baba

July 26, 2010 in Indian Culture by Gauri Govil

The answer to the question “who is Sai Baba” is not known to anybody at present. But here Sri Sainath is self-born. In a village in Maharashtra, there was a brahmin couple Lakshmi and Hari Krishna Sathe. They had 11 children born to them, but all of them died. They lost all hopes in life and decided to end their lives.Having decided to end life through fasting unto death, they thought of sitting under the shade of a big tree, and gathered all the fallen dry leaves into a heap ti side at the foot of that tree. While they were about to take their seat, they heard the cry of a child. Read the rest of this entry →

Ring Finger

July 24, 2010 in Fun Lovers, Indian Culture, People and Relationships by Radha

Really Wonderful.

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese Legend…

Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together – back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb – tip to tip

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)…,
they will open, because your parents are not destined to live
with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)….,
they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families
and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)….,
they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT….., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives – through thick and thin!!
But.. you can if you separate the middle finger, that is you, thereby destroying your own self !!

Please try this out…

ISN’T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

July 1, 2010 in Indian Culture, News, Views and Issues by Manoj

Read the rest of this entry →
